EFFECTS OF STRESS ON TREASURER’S JOB PERFORMANCE IN LEUTEBORO

NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL: A CASE STUDY

ABSTRACT
Studies have shown that occupational stress became a common problem in job
workplace. Excessive work and stress contribute towards negative effects both physical and
psychological of employees. The purpose of this study was to identify and determine the risk
factors of stress among treasurers in Leuteboro National High School (LNHS). A case study was
conducted. The cases consisted of two treasurers in Leuteboro National High School. Data
collection was done using a combination of observation and a structured interview. The findings
showed that the common cause of stress of treasurers is the work overloading over time. The
findings from this study suggest that employees were pressure to do a work on a particular time
due to the relevance of the work to be done. When the work given was over the capacity of the
worker, the pressure will be present. The support of parents/family would at least lessen the
burden their family member is shouldering. The study mainly recommended increasing stress
management program and reinforcement of occupational interventions to contribute to a
reduction in the prevalence of job stress in school and in other settings.
