INTRODUCTION :

From the cultural point of view, Greek civilization was the most advanced civilization of the ancient
world. So it had proven to be very fruitful for world civilization. The greeks had progressed leaps and
bounds in the fields of literature, art, philosophy and politics. Books written by the greeks are still very
priceless property of the world literature.

POLITY :

The principle of republican governance of greeks is a very big contribution to the world civilization.
Greeks were very experimental about polity. By virtue of which they have produced great philosophers
like Plato, Aristotle, Socrat etc. They have written some priceless texts in the field of politics. In the
context of world history, Aristotle at very first, had categorised the various governance systems and
Plato had elaborated the image of an ideal king in front of the world. Plato had written the book named
'Republic' and Aristotle had penned down the book called 'Politics'.

PHILOSOPHY :

In the field of philosophy, the contribution of Greeks is second to none. In the context of western world,
the origin of philosophical thinking was in Greek civilization itself. Greeks have produced some
enormously famous philosophers whose compositions are unforgettable commodity in philosophy.

3 Philosophers of Ancient greek are considered as the best philosophers in the world.

1. Socrat ( 470 - 366 BC) :

Socrat was the best philosopher and a fearless promoter of truth of his time. He used to encourage the
youth to follow the path of truth. For his such kind of philosophy, he was considered as a danger for the
republic of Athenes, thus he was poisned in the prison.

2. Plato ( 427 - 347 BC) :

Plato was the main disciple of Socrat. He was considered as the leading promoter of western philosophy.
He presented an imagery of an ideal king in front of the world in his text 'Republic'. His philosophies are
read with keen interest even in present world.

3. Aristotle ( 384 - 322 BC) :

Aristotle was the disciple of Plato and the mentor of Alaxander the great. This philosopher was a great
scholar and had a multitalented personality. He had mastered almost every discipline of knowledge like
philosophy, politics, biology, art of debate, logic and reasoning, astrology etc. His contribution to the
greek civilization and to the world is unforgettable.

Apart from these legendary philosophers, greeks had also seen some different opinions in philosophy.
