Why does Aristotle believe that a human being lives well when she/he acts rightly
and possesses all virtues both intellectual and those relating to good character?

- Aristotle believes that “one should focus on being good, his/her right actions will
follow effortlessly”. It is like a domino effect that when you do good, good things will
follow. By doing good actions you will satisfy your own inclinations and desires
which can lead to happy life. You do not feel guilt to the things you have done
because you are assured that you did just the right things in a right time, right person,
and right situation. Achieving Eudaimonia doesn’t guarantee that you will live a life
of perfection but it guarantees that you will live well.

2. On the area of social justice, what obligations does one have to the marginalized
people in order for them to live as well as possible?

- All you have to do is to treat them right and not to marginalized them. Marginalizing
per se is not a good virtue because you treat people that as if they do not belong to the
society or they are unimportant. The reason why they do not live well as expected, is
because the fact they are being marginalized and discriminated. Like for example,
LGBTQ community is being marginalized by most people especially some religious
community because they believed that they are violators of God’s Law. People are
being marginalized because we tend to follow what we call “our virtue” that most of
the time we tend to overdo it. We tend judge people because they are not inline to
what we believe what is right. However according to Aristotle, there is a golden
mean in every virtue that pertains to right amount. Our virtue should not be deficient
or excessive. Hence, virtue should give right amount judgments and actions to the
community for all of us to live well.
