GENERAL GUIDELINES

PURPOSE

The purpose is to give students opportuni es to develop their God-given talents and gi s, as
well as their leadership skills. God’s Word states that Chris an youth should not only be
different from the world, (Romans 12:1-2) but that they should also set a standard of
excellence!

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever
things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things
are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
Philippians 4:8

BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW

Any piece/event/item that communicates anything contrary to what the Bible teaches is
inconsistent with a Biblical Worldview. Philippians 4:8 is a very good guide for all events.

Here are some examples of inconsistency with a Biblical Worldview:

● A poetry recita on about a mother’s love...one line in the poem says... “God knew he
couldn’t be everywhere so He made mothers to take care...” This line denies the
omnipresence of God.

HOW TO PREPARE

1. SELECT YOUR EVENTS:

Choose events which will best develop your talents and gi s for Chris an service.

2. PLAN AND SCHEDULE:

A wise man said, “Those who fail to plan, plan to fail”.

3. SEEK ADVICE:
When you have selected your event, seek the advice of Godly adults who have exper se in
your area, e.g.: parents, teachers, etc. They can give you valuable advice that will help you
now and in future service.

4. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE

Arrange your me to prac ce in the performance you choose.

3
5. PRAY:
As you prepare, pray that your performance will bring glory to the Lord.

6. DO YOUR BEST:
“Good, be er, best, never let it rest, un l your good is be er, and your be er is best.”
Evidence reveals that almost any group of young people with concentrated effort can excel
in almost all entry areas.

“The hand of the diligent shall bear rule...” Proverbs 12:24a
