Slurred Series (pages 2.3) 1. Before practicing the scales, learn the half-note triplet chythm and quarter-note triplet rhythm in 4/4 time as seen on page 2. Practice without the instrument frst, lapping out the rhythm while the metronome is on. Look careflly at the box entitled Suidiision of tps co eats how to subdivide mentally. Tips a. Start saying the cighth-note triplet subdivision out loud by counting “L, 2, 3°, over and over. Now count in the same triplet shythm but count “L, 2, 3,4”, over and over. Every time you say “One’ the beginning of the next hal note triplet. Emphasize the word “One” so that you can hese where it ‘occurs in the measure, Clap your hands whea you say that word. b. For the quarter-note triplet, count “L, 2, 3, 4,5, 6” stil saying it in a triplet meter.
