Definition ;
Software is the programs and routines for a computer 0R the program material for
an electronic device which make it run . software is a set of instructions, data or programs used
to operate computers and execute specific tasks.

It is the opposite of hardware which describes the physical aspects of a computer.

Example;
Excel or windows or iTunes….word processing programs and internet browser are
examples of software

There are two types of software which are given below.

 Importance of software in Education;
Educational software is the developmental and non-
developmental software which are specifically used for education .it also reflects on the
technical and also instructional design for developing the courseware or educational
application.

This is a large market of educational software in use today. It encompasses different ranges
from language learning software to classroom management software to reference software,
etc.

A team decided that they were to develop a system in which educational software should be
evaluated as there is no current standard. It is called the construction of the comprehensive
Evaluation of electronic learning tools and educational software.

The software to be evaluated is graded on a point scale in four categories:
 The area of technical ,technological and user attribute.
 Area of criteria evaluating the information, contact and operation of the software.
 The area of criteria evaluating the information in term of educational use ,learning
and recognition.
 The area of criteria evaluating the psychological and pedagogical use of software.

Banking software is enterprise software that is used by the banking industry to provide

Within retails banks ,banking software typically refers to core banking software and all its
interfaces that allow them to connect to other modular software and to the interbank
networks. Within investment banking , banking software typically refer to the trading software
used to access capital markets.

It is very important for business as it helps them distinguish from
competitors and become more competitive. Software development can improve the clients
experience, bring more future –rich and innovative product to market, and make setups more
safe, productive , and efficient.

Application software or software applications help the end users perform single or multiple
tasks .
Application software finds its presence in enterprise as well as non-enterprise
applications.
ERP is enterprise software that integrate all the operations and functions of an
organization .
The role of software in the manufacturing industry is growing in importance and its future
depends on how it embraces software solutions.

Manufacturing , as well as every other industry , has been touched by digital

Using scientific software is important to the majority of scientist.
Survey results :
H3a: 84.3% of the responses state that developing scientific software is important or
very important for their own research . 46.4% state that developing scientific software is
importance or very important for their research of others.
Software are very important to the technology world today . they create software
that we use every day , such as Microsoft office, E-mails , Games , or anything that involves the
use of computer system or mobile system software’s.
Designing software for the consumers takes much time and detail in order to get the
software perfectly made . Depending on the company they work for , they could be designing
software from little games to software that could possibly change how computer systems
operate .

Is software a science;
Software development is more art than science . sure, the programming
language that comprise software development have rules and are highly systematic , but the
application of these languages is an artistic , highly individual creation .
