QUESTION:

Volcanism events in the history of Pakistan

Answer:

The last reported volcanic activity in Pakistan occurred in January 2010. In an area with no previous
volcanic activity, a small fissure eruption in the Ziarat region of west-central Pakistan produced a
small lava flow. Volcano Tor Zawar is situated near Mount Tor Zawar in the Ziarat region of western-
central Pakistan.

Less than 2.58 million years ago (Pleistocene)

Explanation:

A mountain in Charri, near Ziarat, started to spew molten lava, causing panic and fear in the
area. At the site of the occurrence , the emission of chemical gases had begun , after which a
meter-sized molten lava had been started spewing out.

The various survey teams at the time of activity arrived ,to research the lava that, luckily, had
not reached any reliable population in its vicinity, which was scarce.

During that period, the protection steps were taken despite all natural immunity, and fewer
homes situated in the vicinity of the site had also been relocated.

It is important to note that, this area was subjected to extreme seismic jolts during last year,
resulting in calamitous loss of lives and property; though aftershocks followed that activity as
well.
