Was a non-violet revolution in Czehoslovakia.

When did the event happen?


Velvet Revolution in Czehoslovakia started from 17th November-29 December 1989.

How did it start?


On Friday the 17th November state students carried banners, chantd and sang a requirement to channge
the situation in Czehoslovakia. However, the police suppressed a peaceful student demonstration in
Prague.

What actually happend?


Huge demonstrations by students againts the Socialist government.

What was the result?


In Prague formed a new gornment led by Marian Calfa. Following the appointment of governtment
comunist president Husák resigned. In 1990 the Federal Assembly adopted the name change of our
country to the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic.
