AMENDMENTS TO PRIMARY LEGISLATION FURTHER TO THE

ACCESSION OF THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA AND ROMANIA TO THE
EUROPEAN UNION
Further to the entry in force of the Treaty concerning the accession
of the Republic of Bulgaria and Romania to the European Union, the
following articles shall be amended as set out below.
I. TREATY ON EUROPEAN UNION
1. In Article 23(2), the second sentence of the third subparagraph
shall be replaced by the following:
"For their adoption decisions shall require at least 255 votes in
favour, cast by at least two-thirds of the members."
2. In Article 34(3), the end of the first sentence shall read:
"for their adoption acts shall require at least 255 votes in favour, cast
by at least two-thirds of the members."
3. The second paragraph of Article 53 shall be replaced by the
following:
"Pursuant to the Accession Treaties, the Bulgarian, Czech, Estonian,
Finnish, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Polish, Romanian,
Slovak, Slovenian and Swedish versions of this Treaty shall also be
authentic."
