17- TIME MANAGEMENT CASE STUDY

A DAY IN A TRAINER’S LIFE

You are ready to leave for your work at 8.30 am. Your mother reminds you to fix up her routine
appointment with the Cardiologist and tells you that her anti- hypertensive tablets are down to the last 2.
As you reverse your car from the garage, you realise that the water tank is overdue for cleaning and make
a mental note to give a call to the cleaner.

When you reach your office, your secretary rushes to your room and says the printer is not working and
the required print outs are not ready. She requests you to arrange for another one. She also reminds you
that a fresh group of recruits are waiting for their training session from you at 10 am. You have an
appointment scheduled with the L and D department at 11 am. You also need to complete preparing
training contents for a session in the upcoming week. You need to check on your emails and Fb to see if
any birthdays are there for the day.

The company head comes online and says, “I had asked for a Training session on sales for Group A and
CRM for Group B last week. I see that you have done the opposite. If you had any doubts, why couldn’t
you clarify? Pl come and See me ASAP”.

You recollect that the Accounts department has called you for a meeting too and they have asked you to
give a time slot. Your cell phone rings and your child’s class teacher is online and wants to meet you
regarding the Fancy dress competition of your child. You hear a commotion outside your office. You go
out to see that 2 of your subordinate Trainers are at loggerheads and almost in a fist to fist situation.

Your friend (also a Trainer) calls you and informs you that registrations are very less for a public
workshop you both have been planning on and you need to rework promotional strategies. Meanwhile the
security guard rushes in to inform that your car was towed away for wrong parking.
