Find the converse, inverse and contrapositive of the implication stated below.

Make
sure to label each of your statements accordingly.

1. If Philippines is a country, then Makati is a city.

Converse : If Makati is a city, then Philippines is a country.


Inverse : If Philippines is not a country, then Makati is not a city.
Contrapositive: If Makati is not a city, then Philippines is not a country.

2. If the negation of a statement uses the word “not”, then disjunction uses the word
“or”.

Converse : If disjunction uses the word “or”, then the negation of a statement
uses the word “not”.
Inverse. : If the negation of a statement does not use the word “not”, then
disjunction does not use the word “or”.
Contrapositive: If disjunction does not use the word “or”, then the negation of
statement does not use the word “not”.

3. If Santa Claus visited your house, then 29 is a prime number.

Converse : If 29 is a prime number, then Santa Claus visited your house.


Inverse. : If Santa Claus did not visit your house, then 29 is not a prime number.
Contrapositive : If 29 is not a prime number, then Santa Claus did not visit your house.
