My film is about a popular girl, Olivia who is bored with her life and all the boys who

go to her stuck up school. Longing for some excitement she downloads a teenage love
app where she meets a boy named Logan. The two bond over time and quickly fall in
love with the hopes of actually meeting each other one day. Which seems almost
impossible as Logan lives on the other side of the world. As times goes on and Logan
and Olivia continue talking it becomes clear that Logan is not who he says he is.
Olivia grows suspicious of this boy she thought she knew so fondly as her perfect
world comes crushing down when she begins to realise what trouble se has got herself
into as Logan becomes almost obsessed with her.

The reason I picked this as I final film idea is because it shows of loads of codes and
conventions such as, the typical teen movie starts of the girl getting ready with a voice
over on the top. However, my film is slightly different to a teen movie as is has a sort
of darker story while still maintaining the teen movie film. The voice over talks about
phones, which helps add time relevancy as most teen movies are seen to use
technology of that era to be able to maintain likeness with the audience. This also
goes against the normal voice over as the voice over is usually talking about
themselves, as seen in films such as Clueless, which is where I drew my inspiration
from. I love the bright colours that are used in the costumes and the way the outfits
are put together as the director Amy Heckerling, said that she wanted the cast to
appear young and innocent as they were playing teens, she wanted clothes that wasn’t
showy to highlight the innocence which is something I would like to be displayed in
my film as her innocence leaves her to over trust later causing her trouble. My film
idea follows Steve Neale’s theory of same, same but different as my film has common
codes and conventions to other teen coming of age films as we can see stereotypical
characters played for example the popular girls, the dumb boy etc. and the storyline of
girl meets boy and falls in love, however it is also different because it has more of a
thriller theme to it as the movie goes on.
