Understanding sentence basics

What’s in a sentence?
A sentence is a group of words that expresses a COMPLETE THOUGHT. Una oración es un
grupo de palabras que expresa un PENSAMIENTO COMPLETO.
E.g.:
Juan likes football
The weather is cold today.
Words can go together to make sentences. Sentences can go together to make a paragraph.
Finally, paragraphs can be combined into an essay. From now on, we will start from writing
sentences in order to write essays. Las palabras pueden ir juntas para hacer oraciones. Las
oraciones pueden ir juntas para hacer un párrafo. Por último, los párrafos se pueden combinar en
un ensayo. A partir de ahora, empezaremos escribiendo oraciones para escribir ensayos.

Grammar for writing:

Parts of a sentence: subjects, verbs and objects.
Next, you will learn about a sentence pattern, this pattern makes a SIMPLE SENTENCE. In
English, every sentence has two main parts: The Subject and the verb. Sometimes there is an
object and/or other information after the verb. A continuación, aprenderás acerca de un
patrón de oración, este patrón hace una oración simple. En inglés, cada oración tiene dos partes
principales: El Sujeto y el verbo. A veces hay un objeto y/u otra información después del verbo.

Subject Verb Object Other information

Maria Practices - At home
She Sings Songs In the morning

As we could see in the box above, sometimes, simple sentences lack objects or further

un sujeto y un verbo.
