HOT PRESS

Materials
- Sample (with spatula for measuring; storage bag for sample after pressing; marker pen)
- Aluminum plate: 2 plates (Room S-)
- Teflon sheet (Sensei room no.)
- Ethanol solution (for cleaning)
- Stop watch

Sample preparation
1. Measuring Teflon sheet to fit to aluminum plate 2 sheets <Room S-036>
2. Clean aluminum plates and Teflon sheets
3. Weigh the sample and put on Teflon sheet
4. Sandwich aluminum plate, Teflon sheet and sample together.

Pressing Procedure
1. Turn on hot press machine and set temperature to meet the considering temperature
2. Close the valve of hot press machine (turn CW) and lock the presser arm
3. Move the sample to the hot press machine
4. Reset the timer and start pressing until the presser surface meets the aluminum plate. Then
slowly press until 50 kgf/cm2 of pressure. (This step should be done within 2 min) And then
wait for 30 s.
5. After 30 s. Continue pressing fast until 150 kgf/cm2 of pressure and wait for 30 s.
6. After 30 s. release the hot press valve (turn CCW) and move the sample (Aluminum plate)
to the press machine
7. Start pressing the sample fast and immediately till the pressure reach 130 MPa. and wait for
3 min. (Be sure the valve of the press machine is close. (turn CW) before pressing)
8. After 3 min release the valve of the press machine.

Note: After the hot press is cool, put the anti-corrosion paper between the press surface and the
press machine
