Topic: Spain against the Academicism of the Avant-garde.

Thesis: If the advent of the academicism of the avant-garde took longer time in Spain
than in other countries to establish, that is because Spain’s composers were profound
connoisseurs of their millennial folkloric musical tradition.

In searching for sources and information on my topic I stumbled across many

incredible sources and scholars. The institutionalization or the academicism of the
Avant-garde is a quite polemic topic that has seen increasing debate since the 1990’s. I
found a nice amount of sources that speak about this.

I also found some books which I’m trying to get. One of them is the two last
volumes of Richard Taruskin’s History of Western Music. I’ve been told by a very good
friend of mine that he carries out an incredibly detailed analysis of the
institutionalization of the avant-garde. Also, I found out that the easiest way for me to
search was to find a couple of initial good articles, and then go directly to their sources
(works cited) and look all of their sources up. I did this with every single article and it
work great for me. I found a huge collection of very good sources.
