Alamo, Georgia English Language Arts Teacher (Middle Grades)

Teach and provide oversight for the Sixth Grade English Language Arts Program studies at
Wheeler County Middle School. Prepare lesson plans, educate students at all levels, assign
homework, grade tests, and document student progress. Communicate with school
executives and fellow teachers in order to effectively apply leadership skills that convey fair
and impartial instruction with the compassion and skill necessary to build and prepare

Oversee institutional operations to ensure compliance with facility policies, Federal
Bureau of Prison contract requirements, American Correctional Association Standards,
Joint Commission on Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations Standards, Prison Rape
Elimination Standards, and all applicable local and state regulations, codes and laws.
Supervise one to three staff (contingent upon availability of detail staff) and coordinate
Quality Assurance functions such as collecting, preparing, analyzing and tracking Key
Performance Indicators, Quality Control Reports, Monthly Security Inspections,
Corrective Action Plans, and American Correctional Association files. Participate in daily
Executive Staff Meetings, weekly Department Head Meetings, and monthly Performance
Evaluation Meetings with Federal Bureau of Prison Oversight staff. Advise Department

Process as well as the Administrative Remedy Process. Assisted in the establishment of
the institution’s Community Relations Board and coordinated quarterly meetings.
Worked closely with the Facility Support Center’s Legal Department and the institution’s
designated contract attorney, preparing affidavits in response to litigation received.
Coordinated all releases of public information.
