Phase Diagram of Fe-O

Typically, the iron oxide layer consist of FeO (wustite), Fe3O4 (magnetite), and Fe2O3 (hematite),
respectively. The formation of FeO has a steady condition in the temperature above 570oC. Based on
the diagram above, the formation of iron oxide layer depend on the oxygen contain in the
environment and also the process temperature.
