1.

Even though we have sinned exceedingly and caused our Lord to suffer and die for our sins,
Jesus called out to the Father so that we may be forgiven. As Catholics, we have the Sacrament
of Reconciliation. It is through this sacrament that we are freed from the burden of sin and
absolved therefore granting us pardon and forgiveness.
2. Jesus can be considered as a friend and brother. He will surely forgive us as long as we call out to
Him.
3. Jesus entrusted His own mother to us so that we may have a companion in calling out to the
Father. She covers us under her mantle of protection and helps us in preserving the flame of our
faith.
4. By calling out to God, Jesus showed us that he could be vulnerable. He showed us that he was
human. We as humans are very much ashamed to show vulnerability but we fail to realize that
sometimes our lowest points in our lives become our reason to rise again and continue going
through life. As Archbishop Fulton Sheen would put it, “Unless there is a Good Friday in your life,
there can be no Easter Sunday.”
5. In these trying times, we all thirst for companionship, for love, and for comfort. The only sad
thing we may observe today is that many fail to thirst for Christ. We should remember that our
souls also thirst for salvation and forgiveness through the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
6. Although this may seem that Jesus showed sign of defeat, it is actually an accomplishment of
our salvation for through the death of Jesus, He conquered sin and death.
7. Heaven would not be like what we expect it to be. It will be a paradise beyond our imagination.
We may even see more sinners in heaven for through the cross of Christ, they are saved as long
as they have asked for forgiveness and never sinned again. Death might seem as the end, but in
reality it is a new chapter in the eternal city of God.
