Assignment #3

God’s Revelation and Our Faith

“A reflection paper about our response to God’s revelation, the dimensions of Christian’s faith, and
our action in this pandemic as part of our faith.”

1. What is our response to God’s revelation? Elaborate.

There are many ways God reveals Himself to us. It is from nature, from history and
experiences, from prophets, and from the scriptures. God always makes the effort to be
known to us so it is our duty and our only response to Him is to believe Him and accept the
words in the scriptures. Every day and every time in our lives, there are numerous
instances that makes us feel that God is there. If we always feel Him, why should we not
believe Him? Why should we question His existence? Our faith in Him is the way we can
settle for or compensate Him for all He’s done for us.
2. How is faith manifested in our human relations?
I think faith is manifested in human relations through the relationships we build in our
lifetime or more than our lifetime. Relationships last more than a person’s lifetime, it is the
family we grow up with, the friendships we made, people we’ve known, and people we love.
We are building this relationships through empathy we feel to other people just like how
God cares for us all. Through this empathy, we’ve brought kindness to one another and it is
the foundation of our society today.
3. What are the 3 dimensions of Christian faith? Explain each.
a. Believing – faith starts in accepting the Lord and believing in Him. This is our response
in God’s revelation. For all the effort God reveals Himself to us, we should believe and
not to ignore because this is what He seeks from us.
b. Doing – After we believe in God, we should obey His will. How can we believe if we’re
not doing what He likes? Believing in Him and not doing what He likes is the same as
disregarding our Lord. In the scriptures, the Ten Commandments is his one way of
sending His will and telling us what we should do to honour Him.
c. Entrusting – After we believe and do God’s will, we should entrust our lives to Him. We
should always remember that God gave us life and in the end of our lives we will return
to Him. Entrusting our lives to God is right and just. We should trust Him because He
gave us life and cares for us.

4. How are you going to concretize the “doing” part of your faith especially during this time of
pandemic?
I said that the “doing” part of the faith is obeying God’s will. It is also His will to do kindness
to our brother and sisters. I also said that faith manifested in human relations as empathy to
other people. In this pandemic, I feel empathy to others who lack resources than I am. I
show my kindness by buying their goods and not asking for discount. By not asking for
discount in goods or fares, I think that I help them earn more and by earning more they
have the means to survive day by day.
