The officiant carries out the censing during the chanting of Lord I Have
called. At the conclusion of the censing the officiant stands in front of the
royal doors with the censer until O Gladsome Light.

1. For great is His mercy to us, and the truth of the Lord continues forever.

O Gladsome Light
All: O gladsome Light of the holy glory of the immortal, heavenly, Holy,
blessed Father: O Jesus Christ: Now that we have come to the setting of the
sun, And behold the light of evening, We praise God: Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit. For it is right, at all times, To worship You in voices of praise, O Son
of God and Giver of life. Therefore all the world glorifies You.

The Evening Prayer
All: Vouchsafe, O Lord, to keep us this evening without sin. Blessed are You,
O Lord God of our forefathers, and praised and glorified is Your name
forever. Amen.
Let Your mercy be upon us, O Lord, even as we have set our hope in You.
Blessed are You, O Lord; teach me Your statutes. Blessed are You, O Lord;
let me understand Your statutes. Blessed are You, O Holy One; enlighten me
with Your statutes.
Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever. Do not despise the works of Your
hands. To You is due praise, to You is due a song. To You is due glory: to the
Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto the
ages of ages. Amen.
St. Symeon’s Prayer
Sung by All and/or Chanter: Lord, now let Your servants depart in peace,
according to Your word; for my eyes have seen Your salvation, which You
have prepared before the face of all people, a light to lighten the gentiles and
the glory of Your people Israel.
Trisagion (read by reader)
Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, Have mercy on us. Thrice.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and
unto ages of ages. Amen.
O most-holy Trinity, have mercy on us.
O Lord, cleanse us from our sins.
O Master, pardon our transgressions.
O Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities, for Your name’s sake.
Lord, have mercy. Thrice.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and
unto ages of ages. Amen.
Our Father, Who are in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom
come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our
daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass
against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Officiant: Through the prayers of our holy forebearers, Lord Jesus Christ
our God, have mercy on us.
All: Amen. Confirm, O God, the holy Orthodox faith and Orthodox
Christians, unto ages of ages,
Officiant: Most holy Theotokos, save us.
All: More honorable than the Cherubim, and more glorious beyond compare
than the Seraphim, without defilement you gave birth to God the Word, true
Theotokos we magnify you!
Officiant: Glory to You, O our God and our hope, glory to You.
All: Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; both now
and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen. Lord have mercy (thrice). Lord,
bless.
