SAFETY CHECK-OUT ‘After correcting the original service problem, perform the following safety checks before releasing the set to the customer. 1, Check the area of your repair for unsoldered or poorly-soldered connections. Check the entire board ‘surface for solder splashes and bridges. 2. Check the interboard wiring to ensure that no wires ae “pinched!” or contact high-wattage resistors. 3. Look for unauthorized replacement parts, par- ticularly transistors, that were installed during a previous repair. Point them out to the customer and recommend their replacement. 4, Look for parts which, through functioning, show ‘obvious signs of deterioration. Point them out tothe ‘customer and recommend thet replace-ment. 5. Check the B+ voltage to see it is at the values specified. 6, Flexible Circuit Board Repairing + Keep the temperature of the soldering iron around 270°C during repairing. Do not touch the soldering iron on the same ‘conductor ofthe circuit board (within 3 times). + Be careful not to apply foree on the conductor when soldering or unsoldering, TABLE OF CONTENTS. Adjustment remote commander (FIN-95 upgraded) To perform adjustment, the adjustment data stored in the non- volatile memory must be rewriten using the adjustment remote commander (RM-95 upgraded). The adjustment remote commander uses the remote commander signal line (LANC) to interactively communicate with the rmerchandise, The page, address and up/down command data are ‘ent from the adjustment remote commander fo the merchandise. In return, the page, address and data are sent to the adjustment remote commander from the merchandise 1. Using the adjustment remote commander 1) Connect the adjustment remote commander to the LANC terminal (CF-42 board 1480). Set the NOR-ADJ (or HOLD) switch of the adjustment remote commander to the “ADJ” (or ON) (service) position, If the adjustment remote commander is correctly connected, the adjustment remote commander's LED will show the display as shown in Fig. 6-1-6. Bit value discrimination tis necessary to diseriminate between ihe bit values with the data displayed on the adjustment remote commander for all following items, Identify whether the bit value is ‘1" or ‘0” with the use of the following diagram. 2 2 Diao citar rot comand —— nann.nhn U.UU.UU o | Lo Fig 6-1-6 tio dscrninaton Dr tba decinaton 64 aot ausment | bi Bi wemie | or or conmandet | bit bie 0 0 om 1 ° of 2 [8 1] 3-0 1 r oo [0 5 [0 op ee o 1 0 7 [70 1 r = 7 o |e 9 1 ot AA 1 = 0 Bib) 1 1 1 ce) 1 o 0 De) | 1 o [1 © (2© 1 H 0 PF) 1 : 1 (example) If “SE” is displayed on the adjustment remote ‘commander, the bit values for bit? to bité are shown in the “@” column, and the bit values for bit to bitO are shown inthe ‘BY column, 4) The adjustment remote controller + Changing the page ‘The pages increase when the EDIT SEARCH (+) button is presied and decrease when the EDIT SEARCH (-) button is rested, Altogether there are 16 pages from page “O" to page ope operated as follows: Hexadesinall) 2345678 9ABCDER Lep display |9 123456 78 9IAbCAdEF| Piramal 1 2 3 4 5.67 8 9 1011121314 [Sequence of Service Modes Using the Adjustment Remote Commander] menial ee + Changing the adress ‘The address increases when the FF (b>) bution is pressed, and decreases when the REW (44) button is pressed.
