(i) All questions are compulsory.

3 marks each. Section D contains 3 questions of 4 marks each.

24) The taxi charge in a city comprise of a fixed charge together with the charge for the
distance covered. For a journey of 10 km, the charge paid is Rs 75 and for a journey
of 15km, charge paid is Rs 110. What will a person have to pay for travelling a
distance of 25 km?

25) If the points A (4,3) and B(x,5) are on the circle with center O (2,3), find the value of
x.

26) Solve the following quadratic equation for x:

9x2-9 (a + b) x + (2a2 +5ab + 2b2) = 0.

27) The sum of 5th and 9th term of an AP is 30. If its 25th term is three times its 8th term,
find the AP.

and flag pole mounted on it. ( 3 =1.732)
