Nutrition Month is an annual
campaign held every July to
create greater awareness among
Filipinos on the importance of
nutrition as provided under
Presidential Decree 491 or the
Nutrition Act of the Philippines.
During the COVID-19
pandemic, optimal nutrition is
the body’s defense against viral
disease or infection
Nutrition plays a vital role in
immune function. With the rise
of the pandemic, closure of
schools resulted in delays in
giving nutrition related services.
With this year’s theme,
“Malnutrisyon patuloy na
labanan, First 1000 days
tutukan”, focuses on giving
importance on the first 1000
days of life for it is the stage
to combat malnutrition.
As part of the campaign,
Labac Elementary School
conducted an orientation on
the importance of this year’s
celebration.
Labac Elementary school
conducted Nutrition month
activities related to the theme
such as activities for the first
1000 days and healthy
lifestyle promotion for all
age groups.
Each grade level adviser
facilitated the activity
assigned to them
It was new and challenging
way of celebration but
amidst this pandemic Labac
Elementary School has
successfully celebrated this
month -long celebration.
Each family actively
participated in the activity
assigned to their grade level.
