Middle adulthood employment-related discrimination has been an issue in society
nowadays. This study investigated and aim to determine the factors that results to discrimination in middle adulthood specifically in barangay Ampayon, Butuan City. With the objectives to first identify the demographic information and employment background of the respondents. Second, to reveal which factors results to employment-related to discrimination in middle adulthood. Third, to determine if employment-related discrimination is experienced by middle adulthood individuals in Brgy. Ampayon, Butuan City. Fourth, to spread awareness about employment-related discrimination in middle adulthood and lastly to evaluate the ethical and moral perspective regarding employment-related discrimination in middle adulthood. Using a qualitative research design employing a descriptive method and an interview guide questionnaire pertaining to discrimination in the workplace, the researchers selected 10 respondents who fitted the criteria of the study. The results revealed that along with age with 80 percent, gender with 70 percent, and religion with 30 percent are the leading factors which results to the perceived discrimination in the middle adulthood. Based on the findings, it is recommended that the future researchers should conduct a deeper and wider assessment that include the employer’s viewpoint and to use statistical tools for a deeper analysis about the study. Also, the proper implication of the law set by the government against discrimination is highly recommended.
