Ancient Egypt

It was an agricultural civilization, which originated along the middle and lower
reaches of the Nile River, whose history spans more than three millennia. It is
considered one of the most important of Humanity.

Ancient Egypt was organized into 2 kingdoms, Upper and Lower Egypt.

From the year 3000 BC. they were unified in a single kingdom that had a
monarchical, absolutist and theocratic government:

Monarchist: a single king ruled in Egypt.

Absolutist: Pharaoh had all the power.

Theocratic: Pharaoh was considered a god.

Some functions of the pharaoh were:

1. He dictated the laws.

2. He Organized the army.
3. He directed the religious life.
4. He was in charge of justice.
5. He distributed the food to the town.

Interesting fact:

It had more than 6 languages during this time. Even the Greek after the conquest
of Alejandro Magno.

The most important gods of ancient Egypt were:

Amun The Hidden

Ra

Thot

Mut

Isis
Osiris

Horus

Personally, I prefer the god Anubis, who was an important funerary god, the

which was represented with the head of a canid and which was represented

like the judge of the dead.

A curious fact about these gods is that Horus is the son of Osiris and the latter in
turn is the son of Amon, but Anubis was also thought to be the son of Osiris. But it
is not one hundred percent true, since there is not enough material for
confirmation.

This is a part of the prayer for Anubis

“Has entered through the gates of your kingdom,

And we ask that you consider it worthy.

His spirit is brave,

And his soul is honorable.”
