Prospects of swine production

1. If a farmer decides to specialize in producing piglets for sale, it becomes very profitable because a sow
can give birth to at least 10-15 piglets at a time.

Challenges facing swine production

1. They are not environment friendly: swine production is carried in a non residential area because of
the loud noise (snorting) from pigs when hungry and sweaty and also because of the unpleasant smell
which can be a nuisance to the neighbors.

Pig production also requires a land where their waste can be disposed properly.
