PUMP STATION

Inlet pump stations must be installed after primary screens to protect the pumps from
being dmaged or clogged. The pump station is necessary to lift wastewater to a higher point for
treatment, to provide consistent inlet flows to the treatment system, and to prevent overflow of
raw wastewater. For safety, good ventilation and lighting are necessary. Either floats or
ultrasonic level controller may be used for the start-stop levels pumps, the ultrasonic level control
is recommended due to its clog-free.

There are two types of station:

a) Dry-well
b) Wet-well

SECONDARY SCREEN

After the inlet pump station, further screening is required to reduce the remaining floating
matter (plastic, paper, cloth and particles) and finer particles in the wastewater that will disrupt the
treatment process downstream. It is also installed to minimize blockages in sludge handling and
treatment facilities.
