1. How do Blake’s poems, ‘The Tyger’ and ‘The Lamb’, present contrary views of
existence? Explain with suitable examples.

2. ‘Tintern Abbey’ is a poem concerned with the function of memory as a means of


regeneration and self-knowledge. Discuss.

3. How does Byron glorify the ideals of liberty in ‘On the Castle of Chillon’?

4. Examine ‘Kubla Khan’ as a poem dealing with the process of artistic creativity.

5. How does Keats combine the natural, the animal and the human worlds in his
poems? Elucidate using examples from his poems included in your syllabus.

6. Elaborate on the mythopoeic element in the poetry of Shelley with special


reference to ‘Ode to the West Wind’.

GROUP-B
7. The Monster, not Victor, is the real hero of Frankenstein. Do you agree? Give
reasons for your answer.

8. Comment on the Gothic elements found in Frankenstein.
