Another major thing, to keep in mind, is one’s endurance in the face of temporary defeats, as they may

be needed as a foundation to future success. Especially when knowing that failure is a trickster that
takes great delight in tripping one when success is almost within reach.

Courage is essential to face challenges when all doors seem to close in one’s face. That’s what made that
little black girl defeat the old white Uncle Darby when it seemed like she was about to not only lose the
stance, but probably her life as well.

Another lesson to learn from that little girls’ defiance to the old white master was to never turn one’s
