The video we just watched was all about the HB012 Hydrostatic Pressure.

It was a
demonstration of an equipment that allows the moment caused by a fluid thrust on a wholly or partially
submerged plane surface to be measured directly. So the equipment has a PVC quadrant is mounted on
a balance arm that is pivoted on a knife, then it coincides to the center. When the quadrant rises there
are hydrostatic forces on the quadrant.

During the test procedure, the first step includes the adjustment of the level using the bulls eye
level, then adjust the weight of the counter balance using the position. The next step is to fill the
equipment with water up until the edge, after filling it up, use the weights to balance the counter
balance, adjust accordingly until it levels. Measure the water height or distance and then record the
value with the height of W. Take a weight of 20 grams off of the weight hanger. Then drain the water
until it levels again. Then repeat the process then measure the distance H. Drain until the water level is
about half the height of the quadrant. Calculate the value of the depth of center of pressure in the
submerged area of the quadrant.
