INSTRUCTIONS
Our uafonce fits a 36"w window. To adjust to fit a
larger window, add additional triangles and
increllse or decrease amount of ouerlap bett.0eer1
triangles and length of rod poc.ket.
1. From fabrics for valance, cut three triangles that
me<Jsure 16.. on each side. For rod pocket, cut ;;i
fabric strip that measures 4" x 40" from fabric
for rod pocket, piecing as necessary.
2. On t\.vo sides of e<:1ch triangle, press n:iw edge
1
/.t to right side. Use web tape to fuse a length
of 1/s"w ribbon or jumbo rickrack along eoch
P'e>sed edge.
3 . Press each short end of rod pocket strip 1/ t to
wrong side; press 1/4~ to wrong side again and
sew in place.
4. Matching right sides and raw edges of rod
pocket strip, use a 1/ 4" seam allowance to sew
long edges together. Turn rod pocket right side
out. Press pocket so that seam is at center back.
5. Referring to photo, overlap triangles and pin in
place. Press row edges of triangles 1/1~ to v.:rong
side.
6 Matching one long edge of rod pocket to
pressed edges of triangles and with rod pocket
seam against back of valance, use a 1/ i ' seam
allowance to sew rod pocket to top edge on
b;,ck of triangles.
7. For each tassel, cut several IO'" lengths of
rickrack and assorted ribbons: mix lengths
together. For hanger, knot a 6 .. length of
embroidery floss around center of bundle. Fold
bundle in half and insert through one wooden
bead: glue to secure. Thread one end of floss
through button; knot and trim ends. Glue tassel
to one corner of triangle. Repeat for each
triangle.
