UNDER-CABINET LIGHTING
● Mounted underneath kitchen cabinets, this type of lighting is extremely
popular as task lighting in a kitchen. The under-cabinet lights in this kitchen
brighten up the room and enhance the contemporary, clean feel of the
space.
● Under cabinet lighting has several distinct advantages.
under cabinet lighting is resourceful - rather than
needing to install an entire lamp fixture or ceiling fixture,
under cabinet lights can be installed directly into a
cabinet that is already fixed into place.

PRICE : Average price of the lighting ranges from $1500-$2500

TECHNICAL DETAILS
SIZE : Usually, under cabinet lights are sold in standard increments of length. For example, you
might be able to choose between 8in, 16in, 24in, or 32in. In that case, if your cavity measures 18
inches long, be sure to select the 16 inch fixture rather than the 8 inch fixture.

LUMENS : Under-Cabinet Lighting & Nearby Task Lighting (Lamps) – 175 to 550 Lumens/ ft.

WATT : under-cabinet fixtures – need about 4 to 10 watts of power per foot with 5 mm LEDs
or about 20 watts per foot with high-power LEDs.

TEMPERATURE : color temperature (2700K-3000K, or 5000K) and stay consistent with it

throughout your kitchen.

VOLTAGE : The voltage of under-cabinet lighting is separated into three main types : Line
voltage (120V) lighting Low voltage (12V or 24V) lighting battery voltage (15V to 10V).

LIFE : An excellent rated life for an LED under cabinet light is around 50,000 hours. Operated for
3 hours per day, that light could last over 45 years. Fluorescent lights usually last longer than
xenon lights, but not as long as LEDs.
FLOOR LAMP
● A versatile and portable light source, lamps come in a wide range
of sizes and styles. This floor lamp complements the room's
design scheme and provides task lighting for the bordering
chairs.

TECHNICAL DETAILS
SIZE : Floor lamps should have an overall height of roughly 58”-64”
(147-163 cm) based on the standard sitting height of a person on a
couch or chair. The bottom of the floor lamp shade should be roughly
at or above a person’s sitting eye level and should try to match the
edges of similar lighting fixtures within the space.
PRICE : Average price of the lamp ranges from 6600-13800 RS.

LUMENS : A rule of thumb is that a sitting room or bedroom needs about 10 to 20 lumens
per square foot in total and a bathroom or kitchen needs 70 to 80 lumens per square foot .

WATT : Most floor lamps typically range from a 250 to 350 watt equivalent, which may be
provided by 2 or 3 light bulbs.

TEMPERATURE : 2700k – 3000k (soft, warm white) 3500k – 4100k (neutral white) 5000k –
6500k (cool white, daylight)

VOLTAGE : The most common voltage for electric light bulbs is 120 volts (120V). This is the
default voltage for most lighting fixtures.

LIFE : The LED in a floor lamp lasts 20 years, but the LED cannot be replaced
TABLE LAMP
● A stylish table lamp can add character to a room
while providing task light. This sophisticated lamp
could easily be used for reading.
● A table lamp is a source of light that stands on a
table or any piece of furniture. ... With the perfect
bulb type, shade, shape, and color modern
contemporary table lamps can work as a source of
direct or diffused light to enhance the ambiance
setting.
PRICE : Average price of the lamp ranges from 2450- 12,000RS.

LUMENS : For this lamp, it generates 900 lumens (over 60-watt equivalent) with 1300 lux in
the center – demonstrating that it is re-allocating light into the other areas of the desk rather
than in the center.
WATT : Most table lamp typically ranges from 19watts - 60 watts.

TEMPERATURE : Color temperature is measured in units of kelvin and describes the visual
warmth (amber-hue) or coolness (blue-hue) of white light. 2200 - 2700K is considered very
warm white, 2700K - 3000K is considered warm white, 3500K is neutral, 4100K - 5500K is
considered cool white, and daylight is 5600K - 6500K.
VOLTAGE : The most common voltage for electric light bulbs is 120 volts (120V). This is the
default voltage for most lighting fixtures. However, some lighting fixtures are low voltage. Low
voltage lighting is more energy-efficient, but it requires low voltage bulbs to work.

LIFE : Filament bulbs can burn out between 200 and 20,000 hours of use, usually around
1,000 hours.
CHANDELIER
● Suspended from the ceiling, chandeliers direct light
upward. They are typically installed over a table or in a
main entry foyer, but they are not strangers to
bedrooms and bathrooms. Chandeliers enhance the
decorative style of a room and provide ambient
lighting.
● Modern chandeliers have a more modernized design
that uses LEDs, and combines the elements of both
classic and contemporary designs; some are also
equipped with refractive crystal prisms or small
mirrors.

LUMENS : The brightest E12 LED light is the Hullovota E12 Bulb. It shines with 1500 lumens
and uses only 15 watts. It is 3.78 inches in length and is recommend for larger candelabra and
chandelier lights.

WATT : Dining Room Chandelier For the best results, keep the total wattage of dining room
chandelier between 200-400 watts depending on the room size. So, this can mean two 100
watt bulbs, four 60 or 75 watt bulbs, eight 50 watt bulbs and so on.

TEMPERATURE : A chandelier or suspension that uses incandescent bulbs typically has a

warm, 2700K color temperature before dimming. A 2700K bulb is too yellow or "dingy" not due
to its color temperature, but due to its CRI value. A low CRI value, independent of color
temperature, can cause objects to appear washed out and dull.

VOLTAGE :: Chandeliers are line voltage. Low voltage means there's a transmitter, and [the
electricity is] being transformed so the 120 volts is being brought down to 12 volts. Some
chandeliers are low voltage.

WALL SCONCES
● Wall sconces are very versatile.
Surface-mounted to a wall, they can direct
light upward or downward. Wall sconces can
add a stylistic touch to a room and can also
provide ambient or task lighting. The sconces
in this bathroom provide flattering lighting
while not subtracting from the impact of the
tiled wall.

PRICE : Average price of the wall sconces ranges from

RS 599/-RS 2,499/-
LUMENS : If you have to light a black wall or you have a fewer number of windows, you will
need to up to sconces with 200 lumens per fixture. For a more lighted up home, even a lower
than 200 lumens per fixture will work.

WATT : Most wall sconces typically ranges from 100 watts - 150 watts.

TEMPERATURE : Color temperature changes every time you switch the light off and on
from 3000k to 4500k to 6500k.

VOLTAGE : Hard-wired wall sconces are typically run on a line voltage or high voltage system
(defined at 120 volts). Outdoor wall sconces will generally be low voltage, and require low
voltage wiring and a transformer pack to operate.

LIFE : The average life span of an LED wall sconces is 25,000 to 30,000 hours.
CEILING LIGHTS
● Ceiling lights are mounted
directly to the ceiling, with a
glass or plastic shade
concealing the light bulb.
Ceiling fixtures have been
common in homes for nearly
100 years. The ceiling lights in
this hallway complement the
chandelier that is suspended
from the ceiling.

LUMENS : To determine the needed lumens, you will need to multiply your room square
footage by your room foot-candle requirement. For example, a 100 square foot living room,
which needs 10-20 foot-candles, will need 1,000-2,000 lumens. A 100 square foot dining room,
which needs 30-40 foot-candles, will need 3,000-4,000 lumens.

WATT : Watts are the standard unit for measuring electricity. For lighting, there are three
basic levels - mood lighting (about 40 watts), task lighting (about 100 watts) and the
in-between or average lighting (often 60-75 watts).

TEMPERATURE : This light gives a warm and cozy feeling and is often best for living rooms,
dens and bedrooms. Warm white (3,000 to 4,000 Kelvin) is more yellowish-white. These bulbs
are best suited for kitchens and bathrooms. Bright white (4,000 to 5,000 Kelvin) is between
white and blue tones.

VOLTAGE : Most fixtures are line voltage (120 volts), but a few varieties—including track
lighting and under-cabinet lighting—operate off low voltage (12 volts), meaning you need to
purchase a transformer..

LIFE : While the average lifespan is 30,000 to 50,000 hours, you can find bulbs that last twice
this long, up to 100,000 hours. This incredible technology continues to improve to provide
homeowners with affordable, energy-efficient and long-lasting lighting.
PENDANT LIGHTING
● Suspended from the ceiling, a pendant light directs
light down. It can easily enhance the decorative style of
a room and add character. In this space, the pendants
are positioned to hang low over the bed-side tables.
● Since pendant lights are typically smaller and placed in
sets, it is important to follow general lighting rules to
avoid creating poor lighting. An odd number of
pendants is preferable to an even amount.Pendants
should be placed high enough to allow an unobstructed
view while either sitting or standing. Pendants should
be placed 28-38 inches above a counter top, or 72 inches
above the floor.
PRICE : Pendant lights are traditionally used in kitchens and can cost $60 to $85 per
pendant.

LUMENS : providing anywhere from 35 to 50 lumens per square foot of island. The higher or
lower end of that range depends on the size of your space, other lighting in the room, and the
ambiance you're looking for.

WATT : when selecting a lamp source or light bulb, think wattage: 50 watts for halogen, 35
watts for IR, and 7-10 watts for LED. Otherwise, your options are rather limitless and a matter
of personal style.

TEMPERATURE : we usually recommend you aim for a color temperature below 3200K. The
2700- 2800K range will be closest to the warm glow of an incandescent lamp. Neutral white
light is around 3200-3500K and it becomes cool white at about 4100K.

VOLTAGE : Low voltage pendants, also known as mini-pendants, use a tiny transformer to
convert the standard house current of 120 volts down to 12 volts. This allows the pendants to
hang from a thin cable or that is barely noticeable. They also use a more compact lamp that is
usually halogen or LED.
COVE LIGHTING
● There are three common forms of architectural
lighting, and cove lighting is a popular form. Cove
lighting is placed in a ledge, shelf or recess high up on
a wall, and the light is bounced toward the ceiling or
upper wall. In this bedroom, the cove lighting
illuminates the ceiling above the bed, adding a
romantic feel.
● Lighting specialists recommend installing cove
lighting at least 18 inches (46 cm) from the ceiling and
6 feet 8 inches (2.03 m) from the floor.[3][4] In kitchens,
cove lights can be installed on the top of kitchen
cabinets. Luminaire strips should overlap the tubes to
reduce the shadow effect at the lamp ends.
PRICE : The cost price of cove lighting ranges from $100 to $2,000 for LED cove
lighting, fluorescent cove lighting, linear cove lighting, etc. While the cost of rope cove
lighting and wall cove lighting ranges from $50 to $500.

LUMENS : General lighting via light lines and workplace lighting via spotlights: up to 2500
lumens per metre (600 lm/foot), depending on the design of the cove and the materials used.
In many cases up to 1500 lumens per meter (500 lm/foot) are sufficient.

WATT : Most cove lighting typically ranges from 20 watts - 30 watts.

TEMPERATURE : These new bright 4000K troffers did not go well with the 3000K cove
lighting, creating a lighting system with mismatched colors! Premier was called in to assess
the situation and picked out a low-lumen LED lay-in fixture with 3000K color temperature to
match the color of the cove lighting.

VOLTAGE : The most common voltage for cove lighting is 230 volts.
SOFFIT LIGHTING
● Soffit lighting, another type of
architectural lighting, radiates
downward, washing the wall with light.
In this bedroom, soffit lighting adds
interesting dimension behind the bed.
● A soffit is the underside of a roof, ceiling,
beam, arch or eave. Soffit lighting can
either be mounted recessed into the
ceiling or on the surface of patios, porches,
beams and doorways. Choose from
recessed lights, canopy lights, flush mount
lights and linear strip lights for various
soffit lighting applications.
PRICE : The price range starts from $240-$480

LUMENS : Light Level 2 ranges from 140 to 180 lumens. This lumen output range is ideal for
lighting subjects 10 to 20 feet high—like the soffit of a two-story home or the tops of trees.
Understandably, the taller a subject is, the more light you will need to illuminate it.

WATT : Most soffit lighting typically ranges from 40 watts

TEMPERATURE : The primary kelvin range used in residential outdoor lighting is between
2500k-4000k. As a rule of thumb, warmer color temperatures are used on architectural
elements (between 2500k-2700k) and slightly cooler temperatures are used on plant material
in a landscape (generally 3000k-4000k)

VOLTAGE : The most common voltage for soffit lighting is 230 volts.
