Documents for Study Visa

The Italian Embassy would like to inform the student body that from May 14th 2021, Student Visa
Applications will be opened at the VFS Global Office, as the pre-enrollment window is now opened.

Students will have to provide the following documents:

- Visa Application Form (D type);

- 2 passport-sized pictures with a white background;

- “Assitalia long stay insurance” (or at least the usual recognized travel insurance);

- Return flight booking;

- Proof of accommodation;

- Student’s personal bank statement (with a recent minimum balance of €5,983.64 or equivalent
in other currencies), a credit card proof, and any other document that can prove the income
and the assets of the student and their parents (mother and/or father), for example: GRA tax
clearance certificate of the nuclear family; bank statements; last 12 months pay slip; pension
slip; buildings’ certificate of ownership, rent, or lease; certificates of deposits of any kind; shares
and bonds; etc. There is NO NEED to translate these documents

- Family Status composition (nuclear family the student is currently living with)

o PARTICULAR SITUATIONS

 Family status with only one parent:

• In case of divorce: it is necessary a divorce act or a court document if the separation is in

process;

• In case of death: it is necessary the death certificate to be presented at the time of visa
application;

• The student has not been recognized by the father: his birth certificate is necessary;

• Untraceable parents: it is necessary the report of disappearance made to the competent

authorities at time of disappearance;

• Presence of a tutor in the family status: it is necessary to present an act of the court of
nomination of the guardian;

 The student orphan of both parents: it is necessary to present the death

certificates of both the parents the first time the visa application is made;

- A photocopy of all the above documents (except the Visa Application Form)

STUDENTS WHO DO NOT WISH TO CONTINUE WITH THE PRE-ENROLMENT

EXERCISE AND VISA APPLICATION HAVE 90 DAYS FROM THE DATE STATED
ABOVE TO RETRIEVE THEIR DOCUMENTS. AFTER THE SAID DAYS, ALL
DOCUMENTS WILL BE POSTED TO THE APPROPRIATE INSTITUTIONS FOR
COLLECTION.
