LINE

Introduction

The diagram compares the birth rates of China and the USA and how these changes over the 80-year
period , from 1920 to 2000

Overall

The birth rates of two nation decreased over the period of 20 years. Although the two trends were
similar in terms of general decline, the birth rate of USA in most years was higher than that of China.

Body

In the 1920-1935 period, the birth rate in America fluctuated, although it was always above 10 percent.
Nevertheless, in the following decade, the American’s birth rate fell sharply to below 5 percent. In the
1950s, the figure for the USA birth rate increased significantly to exactly 15 percent, which was its
highest point during 80-year period. Through out the remainder of the period, the USA saw a gradual
decline in the birth rate, which fell to 7 percent by the year 2000

Over the same period, the birth rate in China varied more remarkably than they did in the USA. It
dropped to 5 percent from 1940 to 1945, before reaching the highest point of the whole line graph, 20
percent in 1950. By contrast, 5 year later, the birth rate in China decreased rapidly by over 10 percent,
falling to approximately 2 percent in 2000.
BAR CHART (PART 1)

Intro

The bar chart illustrates data on the percentage of users connecting to the Internet in 4 type of locations
between 1998 and 2004.

Overall

Overall, the percentage of people who used the Internet at home and remained relative constant, while
the figure for access at work and college decreased. Also, home was by far the most common place
where users accessed to the Internet.

In 1998, the proportion of users accessing to the Internet from home was the highest, at around 54
percent. By contrast, the rate of those who used it at library was at the lowest point of 10 percent.
Approximately 27 percent of users connected to the Internet at work, compared to precisely 20 percent
at college.

The percentage of Internet users gaining access from their house rose to approximately 55 percent in
2004, after a decline of about 8 percent in 2000. On the other hand, the figure for access at work and
college decreased to exactly 10 percent and around 18 percent, respectively, over the period of 4 years.
Users accessing the internet at library increased about 5 percent from 1998 to 2000 and then dipped
slightly in 2002, where it remained steady throughout 2004.
BAR CHART (PART 2)

The bar chart illustrates the data about 5 activities Australian children prefer to play in their spare time

Overall

Overall, boys do more of each activity than girls except for art and craft and watching TV or videos.
Another visible trend is that, while boys are more active than girls, both still prefer sedentary activities
such as watching TV and video games.

Body

The percent of Australian youngsters in both genders watching TV or videos is equal. Electronic or
computer games are much more preferred by boys than girls. The figure are slightly over 80 percent and
60 percent, respectively. Likewise, bike riding also attracts boys more than girls in their space time. Boy’s
involvement in this activity is nearly 80 percent, whereas the figure for girls is a little under 60 percent.

Around 40 percent of 5-to-14-year-old boys enjoys skate boarding or roller blading, while the proportion
of the girls at that age is only slightly more than 20 percent. In contrast, the figure for girl spending their
leisure time on art and craft is greater than their male counterpart., at just under 60 percent and
approximately 35 percent,respectively.

The table provides data on the proportion of school boys in two separate groups who are
involved in playing 5 kinds of sports in the UK in 2010

Overall, the figure for boys between 6 and 11 years old is always higher than the older
counterpart, with the notable exception of swimming, which is the same.

While 87 percent of 6-to-11-year-old boys played soccer, the percentage for boys between 12
and 16 was slightly lower, at 78 percent. Only 25 percent of the older age group played
basketball, compared to 55 percent of the younger boys. The percentage of the younger boys
who participated in cricket was 45 percent and 34 percent for the older group, a difference of
11 percent.

In the same year, the proportion of both age in the UK who liked swimming was the same, at 19
percent. Additionally, the UK saw a relatively similar figure for school boy aged 6-11 and 12-16
who played rugby in 2010, at 23 percent and 21 percent, respectively.

The table gives information about the percentage of income which residents in 5 European
nations spend on 4 separate items every month.
Overall
Overall, in all 5 countries, citizens spend most of their income on food and drink and housing,
while they spend significantly less on clothing and entertainment.

Of the five countries, Turkish and Spanish household spend the highest percentages of their
income on food and drink monthly, with 36 percent and 31 percent, respectively. Nevertheless,
only 27 percent of income is spent on this item by UK households, compared to 25 percent by
French and 22 percent by the Germans. In contrast, people in all other nations tend to spend
the highest proportion of their income on housing. In France, Germany and the UK, people
spend more than 30 percent of their income on this item, at 31 percent, 33 percent and 37
percent respectively. The figures for Turkey are just 20 percent and for Spain, 18 percent.

The amount of money, as a percentage of income that citizens spend for clothing and
entertainment are lower. In France and Spain, people spend only 7 percent and 8 percent of
their wages on clothing, respectively. The figures for the remaining nations are below 15
percent. Likewise, the average percentage of income that residents spend on entertainment
only ranges from 10 percent to 19 percent in these five countries.
PIE CHART

Intro
The pie chart compares the UK and the US in terms of different categories of expenditures
Overall
Overall, spending on rent and food account for the largest proportions on expenses in the UK
and the US. In addition, people in both countries spend a similar proportion of their budgets on
remaining four categories.

The percentage of spending on DVD is exactly the same in both nation, 10 percent. Likewise,
people in the UK and America spend 15 percent of their expenditures on transport. People in
the UK and the US both spend 15 percent of total expenses on going out.

In the UK, the largest expenditure is for rent at, at 30 percent, while the figure for the US is just
20 percent. In term of food, the figure for US is slightly more than that of the UK, at 25 percent
and 18 percent, respectively. Finally, the Americans spends 3 percent more on books than their
counterparts in the UK. The figures for expenses spent on books in the US and UK are 12
percent and 15 percent, respectively.

Intro
The maps illustrate the transformation of the town of Harborne between 1936 and 2007
Overall
Overall, the town become more developed, cutting out some natural beauties while extending
residential areas and providing more options for shopping and leisure pursuits.

From 1936 to 2007, the area around the river was developed into residential ward in the north-
east part of the city. The number of trees located on the north west dropped significantly over
the 71-year period.

In the center of the town, they built a new shopping center and the post office, bank and library
were remained. The sweet shop and butchers were replaced with a supermarket. Across from
the post office, a travel agency was built right on the site where flower shop used to be. The
bike path in the south west was redesigned as a road. In the south east, the government offices
were converted into a museum, and the adjacent farmland was turned into a golf course.
PROCESS

Intro
The flow chart shows how bricks are produced for, and delivered to the building industry
Overall
The process of producing brick includes 7 main steps, beginning with clay excavation and
ending with the delivery of brick to the customers.

The process commences with digging up clay by using a big digger. In order to get rid of the
oversized pieces, clay is filter by a metal grid and small pieces drop onto a large roller. At the
next stage, sand and water are added to clay. After the bricks are shaped by using a wire cutter
and a mould, they are moved to a drying oven for 24 to 48 hours.

Those bricks are then fired in a special kiln at a moderate temperature (200-980 Celsius
degree). Afterward, they continue to be heated for the second time at a higher temperature
(870-1399 Celsius degree) in another kiln. Before being packaged at the sixth stage, the bricks
are treated in a cooling chamber for 48 to 72 hours. The entire brick producing process
concludes after the bricks are delivered to the customers.
