List of experiments in addition to the 18 experiments of DC and AC motor experiments quoted the

following ones are required for Single Phase Transformer, 3 phase transformer and Generator:

1. Single Phase Transformer:

a. Polarity and Turns Ratio Tests
Objective of Experiment: Demonstrate the polarity or the turns ratio tests of a
single-phase transformer

b. Open- Circuit Test

Objective of Experiment: Demonstrate the open circuit test and determine the iron
loss of a single-phase transformer

c. Short –Circuit Test

Objective of Experiment: Demonstrate the short- circuit test and determine the
copper loss of a single- phase transformer

d. Load Characteristics
Objective of Experiment: Demonstrate the characteristics of a single- phase
transformer under resistive inductive and capacitive loads.
2. 3 Phase Transformer:
a. Connection tests
Objective of Experiment: able to connect the 3-phase transformer in different
configurations: Wye-Wye, Wye Delta, Wye Zig-Zag, Delta-Delta, and Delta Zig-Zag
3. Generator:
a. DC Generator
Experiments Objectives: No load characteristics, Load Characteristics.
b. AC Generator using synchronous Generator
Experiments objectives: Armature resistance measurement, No load saturation,
Load characteristics excitation characteristics, Short-circuit characteristics.
