Jurassic Park 1993

The movie Jurassic Park (1993) is a film based on a science fiction novel
written by Michael Crichton. There have been four other successful sequels
following the release of Jurassic Park in 1993.

The movie describes the creation of a theme park of cloned dinosaurs by an

industrialist John Hammond. Due to large advancements in scientific
technology, by genetic engineering this enabled John to create living dinosaurs.
A tragic moment then occurred when a worker is killed by a Velociraptor. Dr.
Alan Grant and his assistant, Dr. Ellie Sattler, were called by John Hammond to
the park to guarantee its safety. Donald Gennaro, Hammond's lawyer, and Dr.
Ian Malcolm, a chaotician, also joined them. When they get on the island, they
are astounded to learn that Hammond has produced actual living dinosaurs. At
the same time, they all have concerns. While giving tours to people of the
public, Dennis Nedry, a computer systems expert, shuts down the park in order
to steal embryos from it and sell them to an unknown buyer. As a result, many
dinosaurs escape their paddocks during the process, including the deadly
Tyrannosaurus Rex, who escapes his paddock during a rainstorm, attacking and
killing John’s lawyer. Simultaneously, Hammond, Sattler, and the rest of the
operations team were trying to gain back power in order to escape the island
however they discovered that Dennis (who has now been killed) had closed up
the computer system in order to cover his tracks. Upon shutting down and then
recovering the system, the team discovers that velociraptors are also on the
loose and are on the hunt for the tourists.

Prior to the production of this film, genetic cloning was done by a German
scientist Hans Adolf Eduard Driesch who was able to create a set of twin
salamanders. According to the Genetic Science Learning Centre, Driesch was
able to divide the embryo into two separate viable embryos.
Furthermore, in 1996, a female sheep had given birth to lamb named Dolly
which is quite famous. This Finn Dorset Lamb was the first mammal to be
cloned from the cells of an adult animal.

Fun Facts from Movie:

-During development, famed paleontologist Jack Horner was employed to

guarantee the dinosaurs displayed scientifically appropriate behavior, while
scientist Robert T. Bakker provided information about the dinosaur's anatomical
features to animators.

-Velociraptors had very powerful back legs with long claws that could rip into
their prey. These claws were lifted back when they were running.

- The Tyrannosaurus Rex  creatures were carnivores, feasting on the flesh of the
unfortunate animals they caught. Equipped with a set of 50-60 banana-sized
teeth, these expert eaters could rip almost 100kg of flesh off their victims in a
single chomp!
