The
innovations that the group came up with, focused more on energy efficiency by utilizing
a renewable source of energy, in the form of piezoelectricity, to power up a fully wireless
keyboard to avoid using non renewable source of energy, and overall contributing to its
conservation. There have been existing designs that applied producing piezoelectricity
and using that energy to immediately power up the board and use the keyboard, which
is a very straightforward design, you press the key, then it will produce energy
immediately, and will be used immediately as well. Our design focused on providing the
ability to store piezoelectric energy that will not be utilized immediately, and save it for
the next time the keyboard will be used.
