During my life

Moments have passed by,

Times of sadness,

And joyful moments have gone by.

My loved ones,

Some here and others have gone,

However, life continues

And we still carry on.

Life can be hard,

And the struggles are real,

Challenging at most times,

However, at times I cared less.

In my lifetime I have held my head high,

Stood on my own until I found my way,

Through some weepy nights,

And tears from dawn until dusk.

With age and experience,

It is now abundantly clear,

That things that were once important in my life,

Are insignificant and do not matter now.

The amount of material things,

That I have accumulated in my life time,

Never my life feel whole,

They are all immaterial now.

The anxieties and fears,

That hounded my life daily,

And plagued me nightly,

Have just withered out.

My impact in life,

And my success are measured by,

The scale of how I have reached out,

To others when needed.

What I have shared,

Of my heart and soul,

Would eventually be,

What distinguishes my life worth.

What is most critical in my life,

Are my opinions,

And how I see myself,

Whether I am the best I can be or not.

The amount of kindness,

And the love I give,

Before my time is up,

Makes my life whole.
