Document Development Exposition: White Paper

Explain in detail your document’s development from planning to finish, describing your
challenges, how you overcame them, and what you learned.

Planning
 I picked the Reaktion book Trout. It was difficult for me to develop a problem and solution
topic about trout. I developed an outline that helped frame my writing. I was confused on
what audiences I would be writing to, and what some of the categories of audiences meant.
I learned about the gatekeeper and the watchdog. I found a conservatory group online that
advocated for saving the wild trout. Once I investigated this topic it was something that fit
perfectly with what I needed to write.

First Draft (for peer editing)

 I tried to get a solid start to my writing. I added a cover page, pictures and each section that
was part of my outline. I found good information in the Reaction book and online. Once I
gathered enough information I finished my rough draft

Second Draft (for your packet)

 After I received peer edits, I decided to move some of my pictures around that make it look
neater. I did not have to change much between the first draft and the draft I submitted.

Final Draft (for your portfolio)

 In this section of editing, I changed my cover page pictures to make it look better. I added
descriptions to the pictures, and I formatted all headers to look the same. There were a few
grammatical errors that I fixed. I really tried to focus on the problem/solution, however the
solution that I chose was difficult to expand on because it would be difficult to achieve. How
could someone take millions of fish out of streams and dispose of them? That is what needs
to happen, but it will never be achieved.
