1.1 TITLE OF THE PROJECT
FINANCIAL STATEMENT ANALYSIS OF ASAHI INDIA
Financial statements or financial reports are formal records of the financial activities and position of a
business, person, or other entity. The objective of financial statements is to provide information about
the financial position, performance and changes in financial position of an enterprise that is useful to a
wide range of users in making economic decisions.

Financial statement analysis is a process involving specific techniques for evaluating risks, performance,
financial health, and future prospects of an organization. Analysis of financial statements helps the
management in planning & deciding the future policies of the company. Analysis helps in finding out the
earning capacity & operating performance of the company. External stakeholders use it to understand the
overall health of an organization as well as to evaluate financial performance and business value. Internal
constituents use it as a monitoring tool for managing the finances.

1.2 ORGANISATION/COMPANY
Glass Industry
Glass is still an extremely important product in many areas of our day-to-day life today. The glass industry
in India has a huge customer base, as well as the resources to build a sustainable and powerful industry.
These industries form a major part of the employment of people and their contribution to the economic
growth of the country is immense. Among the capitalist countries, the United States is the leading
producer of glass. There are several companies that have established themselves in the global market as
the big players in the glass manufacturing industry and are fast growing into even bigger entities. In this
study we are going to study the financial statements of ASAHI India.

Asahi India Glass


Asahi India Glass Limited, known as AIS, is a glass solutions and manufacturing company in India. It is
one of the topmost brands across the world. It was established in 1984 by BM Labroo. The company was
a joint venture between the Labroo family and Maruti Suzuki, India. The primary focus of Asahi India is on
the automotive glass which owes a share of 77% in Indian automobile glass market. However, the
company is also known for its solar glass variants and architectural glass.

The company has 49 specialist centers spread across the 28 cities of India, creating the largest network
for automotive repair and replacement services. The company has also developed several means and
mechanisms to interact with its customers such as the AIS Glass Simulator app. It manufactures
automotive safety glass, float glass, architectural processed glass, and glass products. It also provides
consumer glass offerings in the form of Glass experts and Windshield Experts.
1.3 OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
The objectives of the study are as follows: -

1. To measure and evaluate the financial performance of ASAHI India.

2. To study the financial statements of ASAHI India.

1.4 SCOPE OF THE STUDY


This study will include thorough analysis of the financial statements of the ASAHI India. The study will
focus only on the financial area of the ASAHI India rest all factors and areas will not be inculcated in this
study. Revolving around only the financial area of the ASAHI India the study will include comprehensive
study of balance sheet, income statements and other statements subjected to the finance area of ASAHI
India. Consequently, the major area of focus of this study is finance only.

1.5 METHODOLOGY
The data for this study will be majorly taken from secondary sources of data. This states that the data
which will be used here is collected by someone else other than its final users viz. organizational records
and data that was originally collected for research and other purposes, various websites, internet and
other published records.

The financial statement of the company will be used here as the major source of data and further internet,
websites and other published or relevant manuals and materials will be used as the minor contributing
sources for the study. Bar graphs, Pie charts and other statistical tools will be used for data representation
for demographic features of the respondents. The data collected will be thoroughly analyzed using
descriptive statistics and other mediums for comprehensive analysis of the financial statement of ASAHI
India.

1.6 TOOLS
MS Excel, MS Word, Adobe Acrobat will be used to analyze and present the data collected from the
respondents and to complete the objectives mentioned above around which the study revolves.
