Thorne (2000) characterized data analysis as the most complex phase of qualitative research, and one

that receives the least thoughtful discussion in the literature. Data analysis conducted in a systematic
approach can be transparently communicated to others

qualitative analysis, as it provides core skills for conducting many other forms of qualitative analysis.
Many authors have maintained that because thematic analysis is a process used by many qualitative
methods, it is not a separate method, rather something to be used to assist researchers in analysis
(Boyatzis, 1998; Holloway & Todres, 2003; Ryan & Bernard, 2000)
