The given pie charts reveal the proportion of the electrical energy production in the United States

between 1970 and 1984. The data collected is in terms of percentages and is categorized into
Natural gas, Hydro-Electric power, Nuclear, Oil and Coal . Overall, the most popular electrical energy
production was always Coal over both of the dates surveyed.

In particular, as is illustrated in the pie charts, in 1970, the highest figure was for Coal, illustrated by
46 per cent. This rate is then followed immediately by that for Natural gas, demonstrated by 24.3
per cent. Meanwhile, the figure for Hydro-Electric power was 4.1 per cent higher than that for Oil,
proved by 24.3 per cent over 12.1 per cent, respectively. Eventually, the statistics for Nuclear
suffered the lowest position, taking a share of 1.4 per cent.

On the other hand, in 1984, these figures underwent certain changes. First, the figure for Coal rose
to 55.5 per cent, earning the leading position. Second, there was a rise in the figure for Nuclear to
13.5 per cent; However, there was also a decline in the rates for Natural gas and Hydro-Electric
power, to 12.3 per cent and 13.7 per cent, orderly. Third, the statistics for Oil decreased to 11.1 per
cent, enduring the lowest position.

Generally, the most impressive gap between the two dates was witnessed in the rates for Nuclear.
