As of 2011, Singapore had the most tourist arrival per 100 population. Tourism, particularly
international tourism, is rapidly being embraced by these countries as a source of economic
growth. Tourism is the most significant industry in many countries like the ones in the graph.
Assessing destination competitiveness is one method that developing countries can use as a basis
for policymaking to improve the effects of tourist expansion on the economy.
