Registration Number and Certificate of Registration for Law Firms

We are pleased to inform Members that the Bar Council has assigned a unique law firm
registration number for each active law firm that is registered with the Malaysian Bar.
The registration number will be displayed in a digital “Certificate of Registration of Law
Firm”, which law firms will be able to retrieve from the Law Firm Online Portal that is
accessible through the Malaysian Bar website, by clicking here.
The registration number is intended to facilitate a law firm’s dealings with external parties,
including government agencies.
The Certificate of Registration will contain a QR code that, when scanned by a user, will
display the law firm’s name, registration number, and current status (ie whether it is an active
firm) on the Malaysian Bar’s website, allowing the user to verify these details regarding the
law firm.
