Description:
Save Yourself is a hilarious memoir by comic Cameron Esposito that explores her life - from
be-eyepatched, gender-non-conforming, clumsy kid to burgeoning lesbian theology major at a
Catholic college, and beyond - in a humorous, ingishtful tone.

Tackling themes of gender, sexuality, and feminisms with the background of being raised a
devout Catholic, Esposito brings her uniquely hilarious and honest insight to these important
topics and reflects on her own experiences coming out and living her unabashed, authentic self
in the limelight - positive, messy, and difficult as doing so may be. Her stories bring courage to
those that have the privilege to come out, and comfort to those whose circumstances mean they
can’t. Her religious upbringing adds elements of complexity and shifting, fluid identity - from
devout theology major to an adult going against the norms of an ideological regime and facing
those repressive state apparatuses that appear when doing so. Not to be downtrodden,
Esposito continues to live life as difficult, as rewarding, and as humorously as it can be.
