Introduction

So basically we live in a society where ever induvial has to fight to get into the top if it is

school or even employment so we can live a better life for us and our kids and family. In this

paper that I will be writing will be talking about how hard it is go get job here in Canada the ones

that are born here so obviously that new comer it would be double the trouble. So the paper will

provide all the programs that are available by the government to beat the barriers and help the

migrants beat the stigma they have. Even though this country is/ was built by the migrant

workers, they still face a lot of issues when looking for jobs. To fully understand what holes the

system has and what they are going through and what steps to make it better. To start off the

current policy we have for migrant workers is really horrible and can be scary when the

employer abuses you. This policy effects migrant working health because they are forced to do

work that a regular person wouldn’t be able to do like doing more than 12 hours a day, these

policy also affect their mental and physical health because migrant working are forced to work in

horrible environment, have very imitated days off and are there employers treat them like

servants (Mark Swartz 2018 ). So due to the bad work environment this can cause a person to

break down mentally and physically with to go no where . I also find the people that come here

who are not migrants they face a lot of different issues and also have a hard time settling down.

Newcomers face a lot of problems like finding a job and employers taking advantage and even

family. For example they already have a hard time speaking English and I find people might take

advantage of that basically thinking they don’t know anything about the law and charging them

extra on rent or even paying them less when they are working like paying them less then

minimum wage.

The other problem is that to be able to work in Canada you need to get a work permit

without that you would not be able to work at all. So Canada has funded in programs to help

people to get the work permit as soon as possible and the rules for them. The organization helps

with resumes on what to put and what not put on it. The organization also help people who are

having a hard time mentally and they also meet people with similar issue as what they are going

through so these kind of organization provides a lot more then employment. Sometimes the

centers get to full and they can’t take no more intakes or they ran out of funning or didn’t get

enough for them to help, so in many cases they don’t help everyone.

So living in Canada can be really amazing but when it comes to jobs its no that fun. For

example people that are born here and raised up here have a really hard time getting a job even

with some people who have degrees so for newcomers it would be double the hardship they

would have to face. I find that new- comers would face a lot of challenges when they start

working forexample in Canada you need well payed job to survive and be able to provide for

your family the reason I say that is because majority of the new-comers start from minimum

wage and have to build there self-up from there. I find another reason why they have a hard time

is because they don’t know how to speak English that well and that becomes really hard when it

comes to finding a job. Also they get treated worse because they have a disadvantage for not

knowing how to speak English and coworkers might make them do their work.

. All of these jobs that they get are like cleaner, dishwasher, factory work and etc and

these jobs do not allow anyone to learn new skills, cause of that it hard for them to look around

because they lack on the skills. Forexample in other jobs like caregiver you have to follow

certain rules like you need to complete a certain amount of time be able to be permeant in

Canada. So in other words you have to keep renewing your work permit until you be permeant in

Canada

Most newcomers come to this country to have a better life for them and their kids, but

when they come they find out that the jobs they have to do here to make a living can be really

overwhelming In order to obtain a work, permit you need to pay which for newcomers that came

to this country with nothing can be a challenge. I truly find that the only reason why the

government does this is so they can take as much money as they can and I also find that it keeps

a record of people who are in the country and how many people are coming in. I find if it’s a

single person it’s not as hard but when it comes to a whole family it can be really hard to provide

when it comes to that.

I find one of the biggest challenge they face when it comes to working is they have a low

advantage when it comes to the people who have been born here or raised and who went to

school here For those newcomers they just arrived and have no idea how the work forced

operates in Canada, therefore they are very disadvantage compared to Canadian born citizens

There are organizations that the government has set up so the new-comers don’t have a

disadvantage but still at the end of the day it’s all on the employer. For example if a person who

was born here and a new comer applied for the same job they would give to the person that was

born just because of that.

After writing this paper I have realized the hardship that newcomers have to go through

and I find its not fair how they get treated and not respected. The thing that bothers me the most

is that some of these newcomers have a lot of degrees but Canada does not regnoized them and

cause of that they have to do the jobs that no one wants do and are getting really low wages

compare to the ones that are born here. I find the government should change the policy when it

comes to things this cause I truly find that its not fair and something needs to be done and be

equal
