What is Aadhaar
Software Hack? -It refers to a software patch allows
unauthorized person anywhere in the world to
generate Aadhaar numbers.

-The patch compromised the security of data

stored in Aadhaar identity database.

-It allowed users to bypass critical security

features such as biometric authentication of
enrolment to generate unauthorized Aadhaar
numbers.
Why it is Security Risk?

•One of the largest govt. databases, where 12-digit unique identity number has been assigned.

•Contains both the demographic as well as biometric data.

In 2010, the UIDAI allowed private agencies to enrol users to the Aadhaar system in order to
speed up enrolments.
