Disruptive Technology
Disruptive technology is the technology that affects the normal
operation of a market or an industry. It displaces a well-established
product or technology, creating a new industry or market. A
professor at Harvard Business School, Clayton M. Christensen,
invented the term “disruptive technology.”

Advantages Of IoT Devices
IoT encourages the interaction between devices called a machine-to-
machine interaction.
It provides good automation and control.
Integrated with more technical information, so it is better to operate.
IoT possesses strong monitoring features.
It saves a lot of time.
IoT helps to save more money by reducing manual tasks and time.
Automating daily life tasks makes good monitoring of devices.
Increased efficiency and time-saving.
With good features make a better quality of life.

Disadvantages Of IoT Devices
Internet of Things devices does not have any international compatibility
standard.
They may become highly complex resulting in failure.
Internet of Things devices may get affected by privacy and security
breach.
Reduced safety for users.
Reduction in the employment of manual tasks thus resulting in job
reductions.
Internet of Things devices may take control of life in due course of time
with increasing AI technology.

3D printing could wipe out 40% of
world trade by 2040

The figure is presented in an analysis by Dutch

bank ING, according to which the emergence
of 3D printing, otherwise known as additive
manufacturing, could radically shake up global
supply chains and threaten current trade
growth levels.

Blockchain Myths

https://www.mckinsey.com/business-functions/mckinsey-digital/our-insights/blockchain-beyond-the-hype-what-is-the-strategic-business-value
Four Fundamental Feature
The main definition of Blockchain is a distributed public ledger without any
centralized control
The ledger can be used for two fundamentally different types of applications:
1. A storage center, or a database, which keeps static information but can be
used to update information or execute transactions
2. A registry of tradeable information, for transactions and payment

Blockchain is desired because of four basic features:

1. Decentralized validation: consensus is reached through finding a nonce and
verifying it by participating nodes
2. Redundancy: multiple copies of the data are stored across the platform
3. Immutable storage: infeasible to tamper with records due to “blockchain”
4. Encryption: authentication of nodes and participants through a system of
public/private key
https://www.mckinsey.com/business-functions/mckinsey-digital/our-insights/blockchain-beyond-the-hype-what-is-the-strategic-business-value
Four strategies for blockchain success
1. Make the business case: Evolution, not revolution
2. Build an industry ecosystem: Friend or foe?
3. Design deliberately: Determine the rules of
engagement
4. Navigate regulatory uncertainty: Watch, but don’t wait

Natural Language Processing (NLP)
Natural language processing (NLP) is a branch of AI that helps computers
understand, interpret and manipulate human language.

It deals with how to program computers to process and analyze large

amounts of natural language data.

"For organizations to thrive, they
must be able to create and
implement a business strategy
that accounts for the major shifts
caused by these technology"
WHY?

You will be left behind

Digitally transformed organizations
(“digital leaders”) performed much
better than organizations that lagged
behind (“digital laggards”), effectively
creating a “digital divide” across
companies.

https://hbr.org/2017/01/what-the-companies-on-the-right-side-of-the-digital-business-divide-have-in-common
https://hbr.org/2017/01/what-the-companies-on-the-right-side-of-the-digital-business-divide-have-in-common
Our research also shows that a digital advantage is
not simply a function of spending money. The best-
performing companies stated they have technology
budgets on par with digital laggards; the average IT
spend as a percentage of revenue was 3.5% for
leaders and 3.2% for laggards. Clearly, digital
transformation involves some significant capability
building.
