-TTW introduce students to music Malian musician Ali
Farka Touré, American Blues artist BB King, Indian sitar
player Anoushka Shankar and Flamenco guitarist Paco de
Lucia.
TTW show on a world map where the musicians come from
and ask students if they can name the continents shown.
TTW play videos of BB King and Ali Farka back to back
and ask for student impressions of similarities and
differences between the two genres.
TTW play videos of Anoushka and Paco back to back and
repeat the process.
TTW introduce students to genres represented
Malian Folk - Ali Farka Toure (Africa)
Blues – B.B. King (USA)
Flamenco – Paco de Lucia (Spain)
Indian Music – Anoushka Shankar (India)
TSW write down the genres, artist and country in their
journal.
