Guided TTW divide the class into 3 groups and ask them to 15 min

Practice compare and contrast the four artists based on the following
criteria: (7 minutes)
• Instruments
• Tempo
• Melody
• Vocal or Instrumental
• Other art forms included in performance
• Geography (Where artists come from)
“How would you compare and contrast the four artists?”
Blooms Analyzing
TSW will present their findings choosing 2 of the criteria
listed above. TSW use instruments(drums, xylophones),
sing and/or movement as part of their presentation. TTW
assign the criteria after they have finished their work. (7
minutes)
(TTW will play excerpts of the videos as students are
working)

Accommodation: Give ESOL student a written list with
translation.

diagram to show how they are different and what traits
they share.”

Independent Venn diagram and paragraph activity. 15 min
Practice “How would you create a Venn Diagram to demonstrate
the similarities and differences between two of the
artists?”
Blooms Creating
TTW ask students to chose two artists and create a Venn
diagram based on the criteria used in the previous activity.
Students will have the opportunity to listen/watch the videos
as they work. TSW will analyze their Venn diagrams and
write a short paragraph distilling their observations.
Accommodation: Allow ESOL student to write 3
sentences instead of paragraph
“To end our class we will listen to examples of different
artists playing music in the same genres as the artists we
just studied.”
